Summer in Spain just got closer from Halifax.
Canadian low-cost carrier WestJet has announced a new service today commencing this summer. New for the airline, passengers can now fly directly from Halifax (YHZ) to Barcelona (BCN) four times per week. This new service creates a new connection between Canada and Spain.
The new Barcelona service builds on WestJet’s summer 2025 schedule offering more transatlantic flights to destinations such as Amsterdam, Paris, and now Barcelona than ever before. Previous service to London, Paris, and Edinburgh are returning in the summer schedule.
Currently, the Halifax to Barcelona service starts June 27 and ends Sept. 28. The return service Barcelona to Halifax starts June 28 and ends Sept. 29. For the latest service updates check the westjet website.
WestJet Executive Vice-President and Chief Commercial Officer John Weatherill had this to say about the new route. “This route is poised to become a favourite among those eager to explore Spain and beyond. Service between Halifax and Barcelona complements our expansive and most significant transatlantic schedule from Atlantic Canada. As demand for travel to Europe remains strong, this addition furthers WestJet’s presence in the market, offering more choice and flexibility for Canadians living on the East Coast.”
